I’m a very happy user with your previous version and I’m sure I’m gonna like this one as well.

Thanks and keep up the good work!!!!

  2. Maïs says:

I’m gonna try it tomorrow, thanks for your job ! 🙂

  3. Hi,

i would try this version and have a question for loading a gallery on an section page (page template):
    How can i load a gallery in a page_news.php or home.php? do i need a special link?

Hope you can understand what i mean … (if not you can take a look at my page or mail me plaese)

thanks for this nice and very helpfull plugin !

  4. Gallery to a page is simple – [gallery=##] the number being the gallery you want to have post to the page.

I will give the beta a try..

I just find that beta can not cowork with Wordtube plugin.
With beta activated, I can not use Wordtube button in TinyMCE.
    Please check!
Thank you! 🙂 Your works are all great!

  6. palPalani says:

    thanks for your updates.

I just installed in local system, it Windows XP, WAMP 2.0.

When i click style tab, i’m getting the following error.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘}’ in C:wampwwwwordpresswp-contentpluginsnextgen-galleryadminstyle.php on line 136.

I think, this not major error, i want to convey.

Once again thank you for your efforts.

  8. PilarMC says:

One thing: the URL to add music to Gallery is unique for all Galleries? I put music there, in Options, and my next gallery has the same music, so I put it out. It will be possible to add specific music for each gallery? Thanks for your really good job!

  9. kabarety says:

I will test it tomorrow… Good job 😉

  10. alex.rabe says:

@ Alex Zhang : Clear your browser cache…

@ palPalani : Reupload all files, don’t have this behaviour here

@ nor-cal : Yes, you don’t need tu upload the .svn folder (it’s from subversion)

  11. palPalani says:

    Hello alex.rabe,

    Thanks for your reply!
New beta uploading feature is not working for me, when i upload zip file or individual file, progress bar shows complete after that it shows error message “folder created and folder contains 0 files”.
I have installed the WordPress in sub folder, i have change any think?

  12. Dave Hamdon says:

I have been searching everywhere for an easy way to post Photo albums in WordPress. When I finally found your plugin I was very very happy!

    Great Job!

I would like to make one request:
I have also been playing with, it is an awesome way to view photos. Not to mention, Danny Thorpe, the engineer from my Trusty Borland Delphi is now on their team.

Anyway, I was wondering if it would be possible for your plugin to make the necessary (Media RSS) file to enable PicLens to work??? If you could do that, It would be very cool!

Thanks again for the great Plugin,
    Dave A. Hamdon

to update from 0.74 is just a matter of deactivating the old version, overwriting the contents of the existing folder with the new version then reactivating? Should I do a database backup and folders backup first? If so any recommendations for a database backup plugin because I rarely delve into the php.myadmin area. I tend to be pretty paranoid about updating a working site especially with 800+ images on it.

  14. thx1138 says:

@photosbykev: I did a database backup and folders backup first, then deaktivated the plugin, deleted the old folder, uploaded the new one and everything worked great….

ah, not everything, i get one error:
i was able to display images in my sidebar with the last three versions like described here:

I installed the new beta (no other problems so far) and i get the following error message:

Warning: extract() [function.extract]: First argument should be an array in /www/xxx/xxx/wp/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/nggwidget.php on line 354

fortunately below that message the galleries are displayed but i can’t disable the warning

  15. alex.rabe says:

    @palPalani : Does it work with 0.74 ?

@Dave : Indeed we need the support for PicLense

@photosbykev : Only delete the old folder, database structure is not changed

@thx1138 : Correct, I fixed that in the next beta

  16. Dan Murphy says:

I activated the new plugin and love it only issue is my slideshows aren’t working all I get is:

The Flash Player and a browser with Javascript support are needed..

I tried copying imagerotator.swf to the new plugin folder and I still have this message…Any suggestions?

  17. alex.rabe says:

Dan , two script files are not correctly loaded (swfobject.js, thickbox-pack.js) reupload them again….

  18. photosbykev says:

updated from 0.74 very nicely 🙂 and that parser fault in the picture descriptions is fixed 🙂

    Nice going Alex

  19. alex.rabe says:

Thanks for the positive feedback !

  20. Lazy says:

tinymce button integration makes a problem in 2.4/2.5 wordpress trunk editor because its updated to the newest tinymce version and if i take the ng gallery tinymce button out of the code, the editor works again.

    // Load tinymce button
    // include_once (dirname (__FILE__).”/tinymce/tinymce.php”);

  21. alex.rabe says:

it’s not the time to test now NextGEN with WP2.5…. They are still working on it.

  22. Alex says:

    Hi Alex!
Can you tell when will be complete a final version?

  23. blaze says:

I’ve got the newest version of WP and NextGEN. On the main page of NextGEN gallery there is information that safe mode is off. But when I try to add a folder with other subfolders that contains pictures, I receive message, that directory contains no pictures. Permissions of subfolders are 777.

    very very good plugin;)

  24. blaze says:

Oh, sorry for my latest comment, You can delete it.
Nnow I’ve read, that “For save_mode = ON you need to add the subfolder thumbs manually”, before I didn’t read the word “thumbs”:) So, there isn’t any possibility to add folder with subfolders in one gallery?

  25. Hallo Alex,

  26. alex.rabe says:

Can’t see any topic related question, so please request for any help and further discussion your comments into the forums. Thanks

  27. I have deactivated, deleted, uploaded and activated the latest version of Nextgen-gallery. I have also put .mo and .po files in the lang folder. I still can’t see my translation of Nextgen-gallery. There must be something very obvious that I’m missing, but what?

    Help greatly appreciated.

    Eivind Ødegård, your humble translator

  28. Nuts says:

Wow! What a coincidence. I love Nextgen and it’s integrated into my blog. I installed piclens and I was like, crap it doesn’t work with Nextgen. Anyway, let me just do a google search for NExtgen and Piclens and all and behold, I find this post! Just 2 days ago!

Wooot, I can’t wait for this to finish! Piclens kick butt…Of course behind Nextgen!

  29. Thomas says:

I seem to be getting the error “The Flash Player and a browser with Javascript support are needed”.. Any ideas?

  30. Brian says:

Hi! Thank you for creating this gallery plugin!

Works great! just a quick question. When the image browser appears, I have the prev and next functions on the bottom left corner. What can I do in order for them to appear in the middle of the ends? I seen some galleries where you place the cursor on the left side or right side of the pic and a prev or next buttom appear.

  31. Jon Soroko says:

I’ve got NextGen working perfectly on a couple of blogs. But in several new installations – using the beta, and also using 0.74, the icon/button in the editing window hasn’t appeared.

Have been trying with every combination of other plugins activated, deactivated, but no effect.

    Any thoughts, suggestions, appreciated.

  32. Robbie says:

    Hi Alex,
Great utility you have here. I am using this on the Froogio website under the Print & Save coupons page:

What I am ideally looking for is a way to call a URL optionally when clicking on the image (instead of the usual graphic image being shown). Is there a way to tweak the code to display a url as opposed to displaying image?

Secondly, I see that the alignment of the coupons often goes out of order and blank spaces being introduced when you insert unequal lengths of descriptions across the pictures. Bug I guess. I had to cut and resize to somehow make them fit.

Also in your description for the individual pictures, I would like to have a hyperlink to a URL be inserted. This would be convenient for giving more information. Do you know of any easy way to do this.

Overall a great utility and another creative use we found for using it.
