wordTube Version 2.3.0 released

I’ve uploaded a new version of wordTube to wordpress.org. This version contain the new JW Media Player V5.1. The path to the player is now editable, so that you can upload your custom version (You can also use version 4.x, as the player is backward compatible). Please note : In the next version I will remove the flash file from the repository. If you not move your flash player file outside the plugin folder, it will automatic erased during the upgrade routine.

Please verify the path of your player in the wordTube options, if you have any other trouble with the new version, please report it at the forums. Thanks !

Happy Easter! After the update my videos don’t show on the website anymore! 😦

“The Flash player is not detected. Please recheck if you uploaded it to the wordTube folder.”

    What can I do?

same here, dont know what to do, i uploaded jw player 5 and uploaded player.swf and yt.swf into /wp-contents/uploads

  3. alex.rabe says:

Check the path in settings and please post further question in the forum, Thanks again

Same problem here. Where is the forum?

    SAME ISSUE!

The Flash player is not detected. Please recheck if you uploaded it and verify the path in the wordTube settings.

No way to modify the setting! I verify that player.swf is correctly installed.

DO NOT USE THE UPGRADE TO 2.3.x. Nothing works after the upgrade!

hey you guys: easy on the author. he is giving us all a huge ‘gift’ by sharing this plugin for free…

    as he said:

    Check the path in settings

    1. In the dashboard: Go to your settings, look for wordtube.

    2. FOLLOW what the default says: wp-content/uploads/player.swf

there is a DIFFERENCE between /player.swf and player.swf (with and without the slash in the beginning)

In our case we just cut and paste and followed the default:

    wp-content/uploads/player.swf

NOTE without the slash / in the beginning. That will make this upgrade work…

    Hope that helps…

To the author alex.rabe: much gratitude for this plugin and the nextgen gallery…

  7. Jeremy says:

D-Fan is right! Make sure “Path to JW Media Player” is correct. It should be “wp-content/uploads/player.swf”.

  8. Jeremy says:

    Thanks for the plugin Alex.

  9. MexMen says:

    Gracias.

Just wanted to pop in here to state that if you use advertising from Longtail Video with your flashplayers the ads will not display with the new version of wordtube. I reverted back to 2.2.2 and the adds reappeared.

  12. Hitesh says:

Not sure if you can help, but I downloaded the plugin and it’s working, but the ads will only show up if you click on individual posts. I want the ads to show up on the main page too. I have “Enable ContentLinks Ads on full page” selected but it’s still not working. And suggestions?

  13. Hi alex!

Any news on making wordTube 3.0-compatible? It’s the last plugin to be upgraded on my site!

Thanks in advance for any news! 🙂

    Richard.

  14. DC says:

Please oh please make compatible soon. So many videos dead on my site…

  15. Walter S. says:

You as a script developer must test your stuff this is not working well on wordpress 3.0 you should try using at least 3 differen t options to test. Many people donate and contribute and if you do well you will got more.

  16. FirstOfTenth says:

I’m sad to say so: Any clip on my site which worked very well with wordtube isn’t shown now. Can you please tell if there will be a version to work with wordpress 3.0 in the nearest future? If not I’m thinking of a step backwards in time, space… and latest backup 🙂

btw: Would that work anyway? I mean, erasing 3.0 and go for the backup?!?

  17. Chuck jacobs says:

Really beautiful plugin… very well done.

Only one thing. I need to have more than 2 lines in the description area. My descriptions are cut off.

Is there a way to change it so it can either be dynamic (changing as more or less text is in the description area) or just modify the number of lines or characters in that text area?

  18. Quincy says:

I am using the latest version of the plugin and I am getting a error 2032. Everything has been working fine since I installed it months ago until today. I verified if the path in settings was correct and it was and everything else seems to be fine but it is not working.

    Please help.
